Evaluation & Letters of Recommendation

Participants receive individualized performance evaluations based on:

✔️ Case preparation 

✔️ Diagnostic reasoning 

✔️ Application of criteria 

✔️ Discussion and engagement 

Upon completion, participants may request a formal written evaluation.

These evaluations are based on direct observation of participant performance over the course of the program, including:

  • Number and range of cases reviewed 

  • Accuracy and consistency of diagnostic interpretation 

  • Use of appropriate diagnostic criteria 

  • Development of differential diagnoses 

  • Clarity of case presentation and reasoning 

Letters are:

  • Individually written 

  • Based on observed performance over time 

  • Reflective of diagnostic reasoning, analytical development, and communication 

The strength and detail of each evaluation vary according to demonstrated performance.

Letters issued through this program:

  • Are independent of any institution 

  • May not be used for applications to the faculty member’s primary academic institution 

Participation in the program does not guarantee residency placement.
